Friends of Allamano
A community of supporters formed in 1996 who contribute to the well-being and development of our students
Our Mission
We seek to facilitate formation or sustenance of centers of excellence for persons with various disabilities/handicaps by:
Religious & Secular Unity
Creating a forum for persons of diverse backgrounds to address issues on human disabilities with a special emphasis on physical and mental disabilities.
Youth Sensitization
Creating and sensitizing a youth that is disability-friendly and takes the mission and vision of persons with disabilities into the future.
Spiritual Community
Influencing the creation of a liturgical/spiritually based disability-friendly church and congregation.
Cultural Enhancement
Tapping influence groups within our membership towards the enhancement of a disability-friendly social culture.
Demystifying Disability
Demystifying disability by inculcating reason and faith in line with contemporary efforts by various institutions.
Twinning & Sponsorship
Forming and encouraging sponsoring arrangements for persons with disabilities in developing lands.
Youth for Allamano
A youth-driven initiative launched in February 2024 for individuals aged 22 to 44
About the Initiative
Youth For Allamano operates within the broader Friends of Allamano association, which was founded in 1997. It seeks to sustain and further the efforts by extending support to Allamano Special School through engaging the next generation.
Through this program, youth can learn about disabilities, develop empathy, and make a positive impact in the lives of our students.
Membership
Individuals between 22 and 44 are welcome to join, provided they are willing to dedicate time to projects benefiting the school.
One-time membership fee: Ksh 500
Meetings & Activities
Monthly meetings every second Thursday, 9 PM – 10 PM via Google Meets.
Activities include classroom assistance, recreational organizing, events, and community awareness.

Volunteer Opportunities
Make a difference by giving your time and skills
Classroom Support
Assist teachers in classrooms, help with activities, and provide one-on-one attention to students.
Activity Coordination
Help organize and run recreational activities, art sessions, and sports events for students.
Medical Support
Medical professionals can volunteer their expertise to support our therapy and health programs.
Maintenance & Repair
Help with school infrastructure maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects.
Community Outreach
Assist with awareness campaigns, fundraising events, and community engagement.
Skills Training
Share professional skills to help train staff or develop new programs for students.
